Mint Julep

8 whole Mint Leaf
1 1/2 tablespoons Simple Syrup
1 1/2 ounces Bourbon
1/4 teaspoon Bitters
Muddle mint leaves and syrup in the bottom of a highball glass by crushing the leaves with a bar spoon. Fill the glass with crushed ice, and saturate with bourbon whiskey. Add bitters, stir briskly, and garnish with a mint sprig. The traditional julep substitutes sugar for syrup, but syrup allows the drink to be sweeter.
